Overview
Better Baby Book records your child’s milestones, photos, first words and everyday logs. Separate child profiles, a timeline and export as a photo book or archive help you organise and keep memories.
The app can be used locally without a sync account. The optional family sync encrypts selected child data before uploading it.

Detailed description
Milestones and memories for each child
Create your own child profiles and record milestones with date, notes and photos. Predefined and custom milestones as well as experience points and levels give a playful overview. The gallery collects photos, quotes and nicknames, and the timeline arranges events in chronological order. Nicknames can include photos and optional voice recordings.
Everyday logs and history
Log breastfeeding, bottle feeds, nappies, weight, body length, head circumference and temperature. History views and reference curves help you keep track of the measurements you entered.
Photo book, export and import
Create a PDF photo book or export a ZIP archive with JSON data, CSV tables and available media. JSON and ZIP backups can be imported again. Export files are not protected by the family sync encryption. Keep them in a trusted place.
Optional family sync
Selected child profiles, events, logs and supported media are encrypted on the device with AES-256-GCM. Account and family metadata are kept separate from this and are visible to the server. Nickname voice recordings are currently not synced. The current service supports one family membership per account.
With the updated app, the server confirms the deletion of synced child profiles. Updated devices apply deletion markers at the next sync. Copies already exported or shared in other ways are not affected. These safeguards require the updated app. Further limits and notes are in the privacy policy.
Privacy
Child profiles and media are stored in local app storage. Only with family sync turned on are encrypted child bundles and account, family and technical sync metadata transferred to the chosen server. Photo selection, optional microphone recordings, exports and e-mail feedback are explained in the full policy.
Use, health and liability
The app is for personal record keeping. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Growth curves and status displays are not a validated health assessment. Get professional advice on health questions and do not change any treatment or care because of the app. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Use the app at your own risk. Check important entries and exports yourself and keep independent backups that you can verify. Family sync does not replace an independent backup.
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, liability for damage from use or unavailability is excluded, in particular for data loss, lost profits and consequential damage.
Mandatory legal rights and liability remain unaffected, in particular for intent or gross negligence and where liability for personal injury cannot be excluded.
