iOS AppChecklists · Categories · Calendar subscriptions

Overview

Rapid Reminders organises your tasks in coloured lists with categories, tags, notes and optional due dates. Completed items can be hidden and come back when you enter the same title again.

Local checklists need no account. The optional sync, collaboration and calendar subscriptions use a service on a Hetzner server in Germany.

Detailed description

Lists, categories and details

Give lists colours and symbols. Items can have a subtitle, notes, links, involved people, tags and a date. Categories structure long lists, and search and tag filters help you find things again. The overview counts tasks for today, scheduled, active and completed tasks.

Complete and reuse

Ticked tasks are hidden. When you enter the same title again, a matching completed or hidden item becomes active again. You can see hidden items through the list menu.

Optional collaboration

An account lets you sync with the server and share lists by username. Participants can edit shared content. From app build 1.1 (5), lists can also be shared read-only, and from build 1.1 (6) participants can leave a shared list themselves. HTTPS encrypts the transfer. The content is not end-to-end encrypted and can be read on the server. Changes are not delivered as a guaranteed real-time service. The cloud does not replace a backup.

Calendar and shortcuts

The service provides iCalendar subscriptions for single lists, selected lists or all accessible lists. Completed and hidden items can also be in the feed. Dated items include an alarm instruction 15 minutes before the time. Updates and notifications depend on the calendar you use. The app does not guarantee its own reliable push or local alarms.

App shortcuts and the URL scheme rapidreminders:// open the app or specific lists. Calendar links contain an access key: anyone who knows the link can retrieve the data it contains. Only give it to calendar services you trust. From app build 1.1 (5) you can renew the link in the app, and the previous link then stops working.

Privacy

Lists, tasks and, if applicable, account metadata are stored locally as JSON. When you sign in, local content can be transferred to the server. Account data, password hashes, lists, tasks, shares and calendar keys are stored there. Signing out deletes neither local tasks nor the server account. From app build 1.1 (4) you can delete your account in the app after confirming your password. This removes your own lists with their tasks and shares from the server. Automatic account deletion, a fixed retention period or a verified independent backup are not documented at present.

Calendar providers and recipients can keep their own copies. Removing shares or deleting server entries does not remove such copies. Avoid sensitive content and back up important information independently.

Use and liability

Use the app at your own risk. Check important appointments and tasks independently. For important deadlines, emergencies or medical care, do not rely solely on the app, calendar subscriptions or reminders. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, liability for damage from use or unavailability is excluded, in particular for data loss, lost profits and consequential damage.

Mandatory legal rights and liability remain unaffected, in particular for intent or gross negligence and where liability for personal injury cannot be excluded.
